Siegfried Zine

This fully illustrated 30-page zine is a retelling of the Lay of Horn-Skinned Siegfried, a Germanic ballad from the late 15th/early 16th century, wherein the legendary hero tangles with dwarves, giants, dragons, and a princess (classic stuff). The story and cover illustration serve as the Eight of Wands card from from Albion’s Last Giant and Other Tales – A Folklore Tarot. The zine is A5 and printed in the UK on thick, high quality, and very yellow paper.

The short format of telling a singular illustrated story and the yellow paper are inspired by the penny dreadfuls/dime novels of the 1890’s.
