Albion’s Last Giant

Siegfried bathes in dragon blood, Spring-Heeled Jack bounds out of the London fog and the Baba Yaga roams the Russian woods in a house on chicken legs. Airships fly over Ireland, Greek heroines steal each other’s hearts, Flemish shrews pillage hell, Basque witches feast and Romanian Iele dance.

A failed utopia off the coast of Brittany sinks into the ocean and Gogmagog, thought long dead, rises again from the depths as Albion’s last giant.

These stories and many more are compiled and presented as: The Tarot!

A full 78 card tarot deck depicting fables, fairy tales, myths, legends and scraps of folklore from across Europe. The stories have been chosen because they evoke or parallel the meanings and imagery of the card they illustrate.

All the drawings are done by me. They were sketched out and then inked with a dipping pen. They were all printed here in the UK and produced with card cutters made in Italy specifically for this deck.

The deck also includes access to an online compilation of the stories, the card meanings, and accompanying commentary on how the two relate.

The cards are 410gsm, have a matt laminate finish and come in rigid, laminated two-piece boxes.

This project was crowdfunded on Kickstarter and simply would not exist with the huge generosity and boundless patience of 90 backers, all of who supported me through the roughly THREE YEARS it took to get this deck made, I am forever grateful to all of them.
